Happy Camper Snow School

Any person going into the field and every winter over is required to attend a basic snow survival school to learn how to stay alive in the event of an emergency.  The course covers shelter building, equipment usage, and even how to communicate via high frequency radio.

Although it is intended to be serious business, there was time enough for some fun.  We were taken into crevasse country and each had a chance to descend into a crevasse to see what it's like.
